99 easy settings for the New Apostolic Hymnal. By A. Ostheimer. The hymnal of the New Apostolic Church, being introduced in 2005 for the German-speaking areas, was complemented at the same time by a stylistic and technical very versatile organ book. Since that year, though, there were also many wishes and proposals to offer more alternative settings for the tunes, especially offering simpler settings. Another point was a more variied play by the use of different harmonies.  Both suggestions are now being addressed by a new volume containing 99 settings, which are suited to 224 of the 438 songs of the hymnal. Additional experiences from the use of the hymnal are being incorporated in this booklet. By using our poll, you also can exert influence on it. We are looking forward to your remarks on our three demo settings (see below) and other suggestions (mail). Please have a look at the most frequently asked questions. This volume is not intended to be a replacement for the organ book but a supplementation. The settings offered here are not compatible with the choir settings in the hymnal. Every piece is playable with manual only and is set as easy as possible. Small notes indicate places where a deeper pedal voice makes sense. For every melody we checked whether there were original settings or possibly settings from the time of the tune available. When there were none (or only too difficult ones), new settings with simple harmonies were created. Every setting is complemented by an equally simple intonation. Every setting has references to all the songs having the same tune, including the number of verses. If the respective tune is contained in the hymnals of the catholic or protestant churches (EG resp. GL/Gotteslob), the settings are marked with an "ö" and have references to the songs in the hymnals. Origins of tune and setting are annotated. Customer Reviews:Sebastian Müller (Samstag, 10 Januar 2009)Rating:  Andreas Ostheimer hat hier versucht die ungewohnten und teilweise schwierigen Orgelsätze des neuen neuapostolischen Gesangbuches abzuschwächen oder spielerisch zu vereinfachen. Dies ist ihm in den meisten Fällen gelungen. Die Änderungen erfolgten in einem Maße, dass die Melodie vom Gespür her ähnlich bleibt und damit altbekannte Lieder nicht unnötig entfremdet sind. Es eignet sich nicht nur als Alternative (zum Beispiel vor dem Gottesdienst), sondern auch als Möglichkeit für andere Instrumente, da die Spielbarkeit, nach meiner Meinung, hier deutlich einfacher ist. Damit also eine gelungene Abwechslung für Profis wie für Anfänger. Diese Bewertung erfolgte nach gründlichen Tests von mehreren Personen im Gemeindekreis. Besonders gut ist die Anpassung an die Orgel- und Melodiensätze des evang. und kath. Gesangbuches erfolgt. Zu jedem Lied wird auch die entsprechende Liednummer der genannten anderen Gesangbücher angeboten, sofern die Melodien mit diesen überein stimmt. Die auf der Rückseite enthaltene Übersicht aller neuapostolischen Gesangbuchlieder ist ebenfalls eine hilfreiche Unterstützung. |
