Proceedings "Meeting at Coswig 2008". Contributions to the history of the Apostolic congregations. Published in German language by Mathias Eberle. This volume documents a meeting held on 18th and 19th October, 2008, at Coswig (Anhalt). Main topic of discussion was "The apostolic congregations in transition - 1863 to 1900". From the preface: "Within a small group of history-interested New Apostolics an idea came up during the year 2008: to organize a non-confessionally bound meeting dealing with the history of the Apostolic congregations. The lasting impressions of the Studientag at Halle 2005 contributed to this, since the Studientag made it possible to grasp the different understandings of the church by the various Apostolic congregations. Futhermore, it offered uncomplicated means of communication and exchange, crossing boundaries between the individual organisations. Prof Dr Helmut Obst, who organized the event at that time, expressed his surprise, that, within the Apostolic congregations, there seemed not to be any institutionalized way to discuss research questions, such as theological and historical problems. The Coswig organizers well understood that a similar versatile program like that of Halle would have been nearly impossible to offer, considering the means available. In addition, main interest of the group concentrated on church history, here especially on the second half of the 19th century. Thus, the idea arose to deal with this special subject in a scientific gathering." Contents:

Also gut, lassen wir meinen Teil weg. Also rundum ein gelungenes Buch. Danke. |
