(The schism in the "Hersteld Apostolische Gemeente in de Eenheid der Apostelen" in the years 1946 to 1951 with consideration of scientific theory forming on church schisms.) Master thesis by Edwin Diersmann.

This volume continues the well-known series "Beiträge zu Geschichte, Lehre und Leben der apostolischen Gemeinschaften" (Contributions to history, doctrine and culture of the Apostolic congregations) by Volker Wissen and Edwin Diersmann. Within this series, this volume is being numbered the fourth book.

From the preface by Dr. phil. Gian Ackermans:

... Such a task, successfully concluding his theology studies at the Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands), has been fulfilled skillfully by Edwin Diersmann with the present work. Herein he could reconstruct the estrangement that took place between the Hersteld Apostolische Gemeente in de Eenheid der Apostelen in the Netherlands and the Neuapostolische Kirche in Germany in the first half of the 20th century. After the second world war and also, as Diersmann credibly proves, as a result of German-Dutch tensions, a fatal schism happened, having great impact on the situation in the Netherlands.

...

Though Edwin Diersmann himself is a member of one of the groups involved in the schism of 1946 to 1951, as he states in his preface, his style and expression is neutral, as good historians are used to do. His task was not simplified by the often biased character of sources and history writing. He was able to include large amounts of contemporary sources and include them in his reconstruction of events.

Hope remains that this work will result in further examinations, preferably again of comparing and social-historical character, and that books like the one present will be supported by leaders and believers, resulting in larger circles to concentrate again on the ecumenical task.
